Call before noon and the same afternoon is typical across Plano, Allen, Frisco, McKinney and the rest of the northern suburbs. After noon, the normal worst case is the next morning's first slot. Typical is the honest word. It is not a guarantee, and anyone selling you one is guessing about a day that has not happened yet.
People ask us to promise it anyway. We will not, and the reason takes about two minutes to explain.
What same-day looks like on our end
A day is a route. We are already somewhere when your call comes in, and the question is whether your address fits between two stops we committed to yesterday.
That is why the answer changes by the hour. At nine in the morning there is usually room. At three in the afternoon the day is mostly spoken for, and what is left is either small or close to where we already are.

What makes today realistic
Four things decide it, roughly in that order of weight.
Where you are. The tighter cluster of Plano, Allen, Richardson, Frisco, McKinney, The Colony, Little Elm, Prosper, Wylie and Fairview is where same-day is a normal answer. Further out in the wider metro we still come, but we will not promise the same afternoon to get the booking.
When you call. Before noon is the real line. It is not a marketing rule, it is that a crew has to finish your job and still get to the transfer station before it closes.
What it is. A couch, a fridge, a dining set, a pile in the driveway. That is an easy insert into a day. A whole garage or a whole house is a block of hours, and hours are what a full day does not have left over. Bigger jobs usually book for the next morning and get done properly instead of getting squeezed.
Whether we can get to it. Curb, driveway or garage is fastest. Third floor with no elevator, a locked gate nobody has the code to, or a car parked over the only access adds time we did not plan for.
Typical is not guaranteed, and that is on purpose. A crew can lose an hour to traffic on 121 or to a job that turned out to be twice what the photos showed. We would rather tell you tomorrow morning and be right than tell you today and be wrong.
What pushes a job to tomorrow
The job is bigger than it looked. Photos flatten a room. A garage that reads as half full in a picture is often stacked two deep against the back wall.
The access is harder than described. Stairs, no elevator, a long carry from the back of a property, or a gate that needs a code from a property manager who is not answering.
It came in late in the day and it is not small. There is a point in an afternoon where starting a real job means finishing it in the dark, and that is when things get broken.
The material is dense. Concrete, dirt, brick, shingles and tile are handled differently than household junk because of weight limits, and that is not a thing to improvise on a Friday at four. The things that are not going today no matter who you call
Household hazardous waste is the hard stop. Paint, stain, solvents, motor oil, gasoline, pool chemicals, pesticides and propane tanks. We do not take any of it, and no licensed hauler in Texas does. The EPA's plain overview is at household hazardous waste.
Your city takes it free. Plano residents use household chemical collection, and every city around here runs an equivalent program. We will point you at the right page for your address rather than leaving you to figure it out.

The city runs on a schedule. That is the difference.
Every city here already hauls bulky items for free, and for a lot of people that is the right answer. The catch is the calendar.
Plano collects bulky waste on a published schedule with its own accepted list at bulky waste collection. Frisco runs bulk trash pickup by request. If you have two weeks and the pile fits their list, use the city. We would rather say that and lose the small job than take money you did not have to spend.
Same-day exists for the times the calendar does not work. A closing on Thursday. A tenant out and a showing Monday. A parent moving into care and the family flying home Sunday. Those are the calls where waiting nine days for the next collection is not an option.
How to book so today is still possible
Write early and send photos. Stand in the doorway and take three, wide enough to show the whole room and the path out.
Say the address, say what floor it is on, and say if there is a gate, a code, or an HOA that cares about a truck in the alley. Then tell us the deadline if you have one, because a closing date changes the order we run the day in.
When we get there, a crew looks at what is there and gives you a firm number before anything is lifted. Disposal is included in it, so the quote is the bill. You point, we carry, we sweep. Our own people do the carrying, not gig labor hired off an app that morning, which is why we are comfortable sending them inside a house.

Do you run weekends?
Yes. Pickups run seven days a week. Weekends are often easier to get on than a Thursday afternoon.
What if I call at four in the afternoon?
For one or two items close to where we already are, sometimes it still works. For anything larger, the honest answer is usually the next morning's first slot.
Do I have to be there?
Not always. Plenty of jobs run with the customer on the phone, especially rentals and estates. We need access, a clear description of what goes, and an approved quote before we start.

No. Paint and chemicals go to your city's household chemical collection program, free, and we will send you the page for your city.
